The Brief
After our success with the HR video, Latin American restaurant chain Las Iguanas asked us to re-design their website, giving us the brief of ‘design randomness’. They wanted a more up to date look whilst maintaining all of the functionality of their current site. They also wanted a focus on fresh food and family dining.
The Solution
We started the process by conducting a survey on what customers wanted to see on the site. This, plus extensive research and meetings with Las Iguanas formed the basis for our content, which included - a clock linked to UTC showing Latin time; several web videos including a cook along to illustrate fresh food; Flash games; a fun section for kids; a photo up-loader for users to add their Latin American holiday snaps; a secure member login for competitions etc and a Flash map for enhanced navigation usability.
We then photographed several restaurants to build the various textures and shapes on the site, and conducted focus groups to ensure usability. As the website is updated regularly it also includes a large content managed system which allows Las Iguanas to add and amend content quickly and easily, including latest news, job vacancies, a shop and several competitions.
